About Trading Tracks
Trading Tracks is a national initiative aiming to help build strong, sustainable Indigenous businesses participating in major industries across Australia.
It is driven by a partnership between the Local Buying Foundation and BHP, and delivered by an appointed local service provider in each state. Following a stringent tendering process, Indigenous Management Group (IMG) have been appointed as the WA service provider and will work closely with Traditional Owner businesses to help them become contract ready and connect them with opportunities provided directly by BHP.
The WA program is the second to be run, following a successful campaign in Queensland and a South Australian program launching soon. In October 2023, the first WA regional Trading Tracks office was established in Port Hedland at the South Hedland Hub, with a second office to be established in Newman.
Who is the program for?
The program is open to all Pilbara local Indigenous businesses and Traditional Owners from the Pilbara, and caters to businesses at all stages of operation including:
|Not registered, developing the business model
